All India Jamiat-ul-Quresh Holds State-Level Meeting in Ajmer

Decision to Start Hostel for Quresh Students in Jaipur; Emphasis on Simple, Sunnah-Based Weddings

Ajmer: The state-level meeting of the All India Jamiat-ul-Quresh was held at Hotel Nogia Inn on Beawar Road in Ajmer, with representatives, office-bearers and members from different parts of Rajasthan participating in the meeting.

State President Naeemuddin Eendana, General Secretary Khalid, Fahimuddin, Ziaur Rahman of Jaipur, Khalid of Jodhpur, Aslam of Ras and former Bikaner Mayor Maqsood Ahmed were among those present.

State President Naeemuddin Eendana and General Secretary Khalid presented the agenda and briefed members about the initiatives being undertaken for the welfare and development of the Quresh community across Rajasthan.

A major focus of the meeting was on making marriages simple and following the Sunnah while discouraging unnecessary expenditure. Naeemuddin Eendana promoted the message, “No Dinner, No Garden, Nikah in the Mosque.” He said the organisation’s team had visited families in Jaipur and encouraged them to conduct marriages according to the Sunnah. As a result, around 400 nikahs have so far been conducted in mosques. Members attending the meeting also took a pledge to promote simple and Sunnah-based marriages across Rajasthan.

One of the key decisions taken at the meeting was to immediately start a hostel in Jaipur for students from the Quresh community who come to the city for education. It was decided that a bungalow or house would initially be taken on rent for this purpose.

The meeting also discussed the proposed hostel’s location, rent or purchase options, number of students, fee structure, management committee, safety arrangements for female students and possibilities of support from the government and Waqf Board.

A 12-member advisory committee was also constituted. Haji Ataur Rahman Jaitaran was appointed its convener, while Mohammad Shahid, Ajmer district president, was appointed assistant convener. The committee will meet every three months and provide guidance on future programmes and organisational activities.

State Secretary Haji Hasan Anwar Sharif presented several suggestions, including career counselling and scholarship guidance for students after Classes 10 and 12, membership expansion, formation of active local units, greater participation of youth and women, annual auditing, leadership training workshops, a scholarship fund for underprivileged students, skill development and employment programmes, creation of a database of successful community members and formation of a women’s wing.

Members also discussed strengthening the organisation through membership forms with a fee of ₹200, divided equally between district and state-level activities.

The successful conduct of the meeting was appreciated, with special acknowledgement of the efforts of Iqbal Bhai, Pappu Bhai of Bakra Mandi and Shahid Bhai MR.

Members from across Rajasthan shared their suggestions and proposals and resolved to work together for the welfare of the organisation and the community.
